Peter Hall Lecture

About the Peter Hall Lecture

In honor of Professor Peter Hall’s life and achievements and his contributions to the ICSA, the ICSA has established the Peter Hall Lecture. Peter Gavin Hall (20 November 1951 – 9 January 2016) was an Australian statistician who made profound and creative contributions in mathematical statistics and probability theory. Professor Hall was well known for his extraordinary scholarship, productivity, service to the community, and mentoring of students and colleagues. He was a strong supporter and friend of the ICSA and Chinese statisticians, especially young researchers. Professor Hall served as the co-editor for Statistica Sinica from 2008 to 2011. He was a constant source of inspiration for the ICSA members.

The first lecture was delivered at the 11th ICSA International Conference in Hangzhou, China, in December 20-22, 2019.
